Intertech recognized as Best Places to Work
Intertech Plastics, Inc., a high volume, high cavitation custom injection molder, has been recognized as a 2020 Plastics News “Best Places to Work.” Intertech was one of 20 companies recognized by the publication.
Plastics News' Best Places to Work is a survey and awards program dedicated to identifying and recognizing the best employers and providing organizations with valuable employee feedback. Intertech participated in two surveys. One completed by management providing insights into the company and the second completed by employees.
“Each of Intertech’s 130 employees plays an important role in the company’s culture and success. They are the backbone of the organization and it’s their hard work, ingenuity and collaboration that deliver high quality, on-time products to the company’s customers”, said Jim Kepler, president, Intertech. “It is important that we treat our employees right not only because it helps with retention, but also because it’s our culture. It’s what we’ve always done.”
Over the past several years Intertech has implemented a number of initiatives to enhance its employees experience, including:
Integrating an electronic and competency-based training system that has provided employees with an interactive training program that connects training plans with each job description.
Utilizing a phone app that allows employees to access HR activities electronically.
Establishing an apprenticeship program in collaboration with Careerwise. Over the course of three years the company has welcomed eight high school students and today has eight apprentices onsite.
Hosting numerous employee engagement and communication activities throughout the year, including town halls, employee awards, leadership lunches and community service support.
“Our employees are important to us and we work hard to create an enjoyable workplace where people have input in the future and room to grow,” said Jennifer Lockman, manager, Human Resource, Intertech. “We are thrilled to be recognized by Plastics News Best Places to Work. It is a tribute to everyone’s hard work and dedication to this company.”
