INTERTECH Received MedAccred® Accreditation
Intertech Plastics, LLC (“Intertech”), a leading injection molding company announced today that its Medical Division received the MedAccred® injection molding, over molding and mechanical assembly accreditations. MedAccred administered by Performance Review Institute is an industry managed, consensus-driven approach to ensuring critical manufacturing process quality throughout the medical device supply chain.
The important designation identifies and verifies compliance to critical manufacturing process requirements, positions Intertech in a select group of injection molders that have been endorsed to serve the medical industry.
“At Intertech, precision is our purpose. Quality is everyone’s job and we are focused on proactively illuminating the risk of having a defect.” said Jim Kepler, president Intertech Plastics. “Being among the handful of plastic processors to receiving the MedAccred accreditations is a testament to our culture, commitment to innovation and laser focus on quality.”
The accreditation is validation of Intertech’s award-winning manufacturing processes that deliver solutions focused on quality, consistency and repeatability. It provides medical device OEMs confidence in the company’s ability to meet industry expectations and requirements.
“The audit process verifies that we have met industry requirements in process capability, equipment, quality controls, qualified personnel and process validation and eliminates timely steps for our potential customers. We want to support medical device manufacturing in the U.S., and this is a step in the right direction,” added Kepler
“MedAccred accreditation is acknowledged as a significant undertaking. Validating compliance to industry standards, best practices and customer requirements, MedAccred has been incorporated by the medical device industry into their risk mitigation activity. The hard work of Intertech has enabled them to gain MedAccred accreditation for injection molding, over molding and mechanical assembly. I commend them for this accomplishment,” commented David Schutt, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Performance Review Institute.
Intertech continues to invest in its medical facility to better meet the needs of the medical device industry and support future growth. In October of 2020, the company was excited to announce the approval of a $2 million expansion and improvement initiative to increase cleanroom production capabilities. These improvements will support nine additional 300-ton machines, add gowning and ante rooms, as well as LED lighting and a HEPA HVAC filtration system. This project will be complete by Q1 of 2021.
